How to apply

Applicants are required to provide information on their experience and evidence of their qualifications.

For Member - Applications for Member of the Institute of Nanotechnology (MIoN) should be accompanied by a current CV. All applications will be reviewed by trained IoN staff. In a proportion of applications, referees will be contacted.

For Fellow - Applications for Fellow of the Institute of Nanotechnology (FIoN) should be accompanied by a current CV and supporting references from either a Head of Department/Facility, or an existing FIoN. All applications will be reviewed by the IoN’s Professional Membership Committee. In a proportion of applications, referees will be contacted and in some cases applicants invited for interview.

IoN Membership application form, to: gemma.mcculloch@nano.org.uk.

Upon assessment, we will contact you with an invitation to join the IoN, advising you of the level of membership.

Once your application has been approved the appropriate subscription fee should be paid. Membership will only be confirmed when the full subscription rate has been received.

How long will my application take?

The membership department will acknowledge receipt of your CV and completed application form and you will receive a decision on your application within four weeks. Please note that incomplete application forms will be returned.
